Welcome to Piedmont wine region Italy!!
Once you reach the top, you'll find a square, a terrace, or a ledge where you can lean and enjoy a wonderful view!
Your gaze drifts into the endless hills, rich with vineyards that produce one of Piedmont's most precious treasures: its wine. The wine complements one of the country's most important cuisines, bringing flavor and sophistication to everyone who tastes it!
This is served not only in restaurants but also in stunning agriturismos, which combine the pleasure of fine Piedmontese cuisine with moments of pure relaxation in luxury spas and tastings of exquisite wines!
Whether you're in the Langhe, Roero, or Monferrato, you won't be disappointed; each place may have its own unique features, but all of them, I assure you, have the ability to give you unforgettable experiences.
Let’s explore together, area by area, the best agriturismos/accommodations where you can stop during your vacation in the Piedmont countryside! Afterwards, you'll find two links to other pages where we’ll discover the best places to enjoy typical Piedmontese cuisine and which tours can complete your vacation!
Let’s go!😊
Without going into too much detail, I’d like to give you a brief introduction to the Langhe, which became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2014!
We are in the southern part of Piedmont wine region Italy, specifically between the provinces of Cuneo and Asti.
One of the most important cities in this area is undoubtedly Alba (called the city of 100 towers because between 1300 and 1500 it was dominated by over 100 medieval towers), which is world-famous for its White Truffle.
Other notable towns include Bra (famous for its Bra sausage) and Barolo (known for its red wine, called “the red wine par excellence”). However, Barolo is not the only type of wine produced here; thanks to the great variety of soil types (more or less clayey, more or less exposed to the sun, higher or lower depending on whether they are on the top of a hill or in the plains), Piedmont is also famous for Barbera, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Spumante d'Asti, and many more! This is all thanks to the over 10,000 hectares of land dedicated to vineyards.
Personal Experience:
Bra is a beautiful town located on the tip of a hill, offering a panoramic view. I drove from Turin and in 45 minutes I was in the city center. I recommend walking through the streets of the historic center, and if you're looking to eat at a traditional restaurant, I suggest "Osteria Del Boccondivino" at Via Mendicità Istruita 14, 12042 Bra!
You won't be disappointed 😊
In addition to its cuisine, the Langhe will also make you fall in love with the many medieval structures in the area. Each hill and village has its own ancient history, reflected in old architectures (such as castles and walls) that have been meticulously preserved in their full splendor!
Personal Experience:
The Langhe is a region rich in medieval structures that made history in past centuries and today leave us with wonders to visit! In this photo, I'm at the Castle of Barolo, a 10th-century AD structure that overlooks the town of the same name. It houses a beautiful and interesting museum dedicated to one of the most famous products of the area: Wine!
Stunning landscapes, excellent food and wine, and great customer service... of course, the accommodations are no exception; let’s discover some of these places together.
Wherever you go, you won’t regret it!😊

Historical note! Around 2 million years ago, the territory of Langhe and Roero was a single plateau located between the present-day areas of Bra and Carmagnola. Over the centuries, soil erosion caused the Tanaro River, about 200,000 years ago, to divide this land, creating what are now known as the Langhe and Roero territories.
Thanks to this land, which has changed its shape several times over the millennia, the region offers unforgettable landscapes, a variety of food and wine, and also a wide range of tours... from nature hikes and explorations of ancient villages to wine tastings and culinary experiences.

Personal Experience:
I stayed at this place last year and had a great experience! The hospitality is fantastic; they make you feel at home right away, and the location is very charming. It’s in a strategic area for visiting the nearby towns of Canale, Alba, and Bra!
At the same time, if you want to enjoy some relaxation surrounded by nature, this place is perfect for you, with an outdoor pool (open during certain times of the year) and a spa that can be reserved for exclusive use!
For centuries, Monferrato was a place where wars for control of the territory were fought, and foreign invaders and outsiders were driven away. Over the years, this area transformed from "hostile" to one that has opened its arms to visitors from all over the world, showcasing all its beauty, both culinary and scenic.
